Another simple ADX rip, except not from a pirated copy of the game. The only copy of the game that has ever been ripped, according to NFO databases, was the one by ECHELON back in 2001. Among many other problems with their release, three of the songs had nasty pops and clicks in them (Army 1 - Army 3). If you previously had a music rip of this game, you will most likely hear where these imperfections were edited out of the songs, while leaving offsync beats. Well, here you have a fresh new rip of the music, free from any defects.

EAC handles redbook CDDA audio. This game used ADX compressed audio. It's a slightly lossy codec. Many DC games use ADX, as do other console titles. And there are many ways to play ADX files on your PC, my favorite being the WinAMP codec here:

Not unless it's streamed audio.

Sorry, but I've never seen it anywhere, and I've spent many years digging through FTPs.

Guess what? The music is streamed after all. I extracted it already. I don't know enough about the game to come up with track names, but I can send you the mp3s if you want. Otherwise I'll just hold onto these until I can figure out a good means of labeling them, but that could be indefinitely, as with my Quake 3 DC rip.

Hi Mozgus, I registered - I'm the guest that requested Record of Lodoss War. Great news that you were able to extract the soundtrack! Could you host the soundtrack on rapidshare or megaupload? Or would you prefer to send to my email? Also, I was wondering if you could rip the soundtrack for the Dreamcast game "Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm"? thanks!!

Here you go: http://www.stevemv.com/storage/Record_of_Lodoss_War.zip
I'm looking at Draconus, and it has about 130MB of STR files, which are generally RAW PCM music. This is similar to Rush 2049. Problem is, not ever song has the same specs, and some of them have specs which my PCM readers cant do, like 4-bit as opposed to 16 and 8 bit. I'll see what I can do, or you can take the STR files and try your hand at it.

Thank you, you rock!! This is the only RoLW soundtrack download on the internet to my knowledge! I'll take whatever files you have for right now, I just want to hear some of the Draconus soundtrack. Thanks again!!
edit - everyone should download the Record of Lodoss War link in the post above. Song 4 is the one I had stuck in my head, at 32 seconds it is just epic! song 5 is great too!

Do you have the pirated copy? If you do, you should just extract the STR songs yourself. I'm sorry, but I'm really busy with the Dumpcast project and other things right now, and I probably won't be able to get to Draconus' music for weeks. All you gatta do with the STR tracks is open them in a hex editor and look at the specs, then use those specs when importing the song into a program which reads RAW audio like this, such as Audacity. But a few songs use some actual compression and I don't know how to open them.
If you dont have the pirated copy, just confirm that for me and I'll find time to upload the STRs to here. I cant right now.

It does have a few great tunes. Track 3 sounds like it belongs in Castlevania SOTN.
