I'm trying to convert these to mp3's using audacity. The mp3's are coming out sounding like either white noise static like sounds, or repeating beeps. What am I doing wrong?

edit - I'm getting it now, got the hex editor to find out the bit rate, sample rate, etc. but you sort of have to guess on some of this stuff. I've got 1 song sounding normal so far..

Just be glad they arent interleaved like Rush 2049 was. Now THAT is a guessing game.

how do i get the mp3 bitrate quality the highest possible? Default is 128kpps, when i set to 320kbps it doesnt convert to the mp3 format correctly.

I dont use Audacity to make mp3s. I export to wav, and then use LAME.EXE plus a GUI to make an "--alt-preset standard" mp3. Razorlame is a good GUI.

Also in audacity, you want to amplify your music. Hit ctrl + a, then Effect>Amplify.

ack, this is all pretty much over my head now. Well, if you ever get a chance to post high quality mp3's that'd be great!

I dont have any. All I had were the STRs which I gave you. I really wont be able to decode anymore than you can. Some songs use that 4-bit compression I cant figure out. It's all trial and error. I have no advantage over you here. I also don't have the upload bandwidth right now. I'm seeding my 25GB torrent over at dctorrents.org.
